Whether you’re a bodybuilder, unhappy with your lower leg shape or suffer from a birth defect, calf implant surgery can enhance the size and shape of your calves by using soft, solid silicone implants for your legs.
Calf implants, also known as calf augmentation, can also improve the proportion with the thigh, correct thin or bowed legs, or balance out asymmetrical calf muscles.
Am I a Good Candidate?
Dr. Stevens recommends calf augmentation for men and women who are physically healthy. Candidates should also have realistic goals for improvement.
What to Expect After Surgery
After surgery, it is common to experience bruising and swelling during the initial healing process. It is important to keep the legs elevated as it can help ease swelling. Discomfort is also common and can be alleviated with medication.
Patients may find that walking feels awkward or uncomfortable at first. However, many patients are walking fairly normally within two to three weeks of their surgery. A return to light activity and work can be expected within about seven to ten days following the calf implant surgery.
