Look Refreshed This Summer
Did you hear about the site www.how-old.net that estimates your age based on the photo you submit? Sometimes the results are hilarious. Microsoft’s new facial recognition technology was recently featured on the TODAY Show, and most of the co-hosts were thrilled to be estimated as younger than they are and then poor Al Roker was estimated to be about 20 years beyond his actual age. Yikes!
Cut to my Instagram feed, with friends sharing results -and frustrations -at the older-than-polite estimate.
Whether it’s a new-fangled app or just the bad lighting in the office, no one wants to appear older than what they are. With summer just around the corner, we want to look our best, youngest and freshest… fast!
There are a variety of ways to go about that – you could fill or reduce wrinkles, melt some of the age-related fat away, remove old, dead skin cells or… all the above!
Here are five of the less invasive procedures that could help get the job done in a timely manner:
Fillers: Wrinkles around the mouth, eyes and hollowness of the cheeks are common signs of facial aging. Dermal fillers are among the minimally invasive aesthetic treatments that are used to fill in wrinkle lines and add volume, recontouring the face to create a more youthful appearance. The best part of it is that the results are immediate.
Botulinum Toxin: This is a cosmetic neurotoxin injection that smoothes out lines and wrinkles between the brows, around the eyes and mouth.
Microdermabrasion: Removing the top, dulled layer of skin will reveal a much fresher face. Plus this process of scraping dead skin cells away stimulates collagen production for healthier, smoother skin.
Laser skin resurfacing: This procedure reverses the effects of sun exposure, aging, and lifestyle habits on the quality, color and texture of the skin. Various different types of lasers can remove the damaged upper layers of your skin resulting in smoother, tighter skin with fewer wrinkles. It also corrects pigmentation problems. Bonus!
If you find yourself looking into the mirror and tugging up a double chin, pulling back wrinkled skin or wishing that your entire face just had a softer glow, you can stop the torment and start researching which option, or combination, will help you rock a fresher you this summer and give those facial recognition apps a run for their money.
