20 Foods to Avoid Before Surgery
Wondering what foods to avoid before surgery? After making the commitment to schedule and undergo a cosmetic procedure, it’s important for all patients to be prepared for pre-and post-surgery care. Health and diet will play a major role in the healing and recovery process and should not be taken lightly. In addition to having questions answered during the final consultation, patients will need to speak with their surgeon about their daily nutrition before and after surgery. Here are several foods not to eat before surgery, recommended by Dr. Stevens, to ensure a safe and healthy recovery period. However, please note that Dr. Stevens recommends that only patients with an existing problem with clotting avoid these healthy fruits and nuts. Dr. Stevens feels that the benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks.

- Vinegar
White carbohydrates
- bagels
- rice
- pasta
